Saga Security Services (UK) Ltd will use the information provided on your application form, together with any information lawfully obtained from referees, screening providers, disclosure bodies and other relevant third parties, to assess your suitability for employment and to carry out pre-employment screening, vetting, right to work, payroll, pension, health and safety, operational and legal compliance activities.
Saga Security Services (UK) Ltd processes personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and other applicable data protection legislation. Personal data will only be collected, used, stored and shared where there is a lawful basis for doing so, including where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, the legitimate interests of the company, or where your explicit consent is required by law.
The personal data processed may include your contact details, employment history, identity documents, right to work information, references, training records, screening and vetting information, SIA licence details, payroll information, emergency contact details and, where relevant and lawful, criminal offence data or special category data for employment, safeguarding, equality monitoring or legal compliance purposes.
Your information may be disclosed, where necessary and appropriate, to clients, screening and vetting providers, payroll providers, pension providers, professional advisers, insurers, regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, government bodies and other service providers who require the information for legitimate business, legal or contractual purposes. Any sharing of information will be limited to what is necessary and carried out in accordance with data protection requirements.
Your information may be held electronically and/or in paper files and will be retained in accordance with Saga Security Services (UK) Ltd’s retention schedule. You have rights under data protection law, including the right to request access to your personal data, request correction of inaccurate data, request erasure or restriction in certain circumstances, object to certain processing, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully. Disclosure
You are applying for a position of trust and, if offered employment, Saga Security Services (UK) Ltd may carry out criminal record checks and/or other background screening where this is lawful, proportionate and relevant to the role. Any criminal record or disclosure information will be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR and the relevant disclosure body’s code of practice. A criminal record will not automatically prevent employment; each case will be considered on its own merits, taking into account the nature of the role, the relevance of the information and the circumstances disclosed.
Disclosure information will only be accessed by authorised persons who need the information for a legitimate recruitment or safeguarding decision. Saga Security Services (UK) Ltd will not retain disclosure information longer than necessary and will handle, store and dispose of such information securely in line with its retention procedures and applicable guidance.

By proceeding with the recruitment process, you acknowledge that Saga Security Services (UK) Ltd may request documents and information required to verify your identity, employment history, right to work, references, qualifications, licences and other relevant information.
